Graduating from college is a truly remarkable accomplishment, and one that you should be proud of. College is officially over, and therefore it is time for the next chapter in your life to begin. Are you ready?
What To Do Now That You Are A Grad
Now that you are a grad, it is time for some serious decision-making. What, for instance, do you plan to do with the rest of your life? Have you given any thought to graduate school? Are you thinking about going straight to work? Where do you plan to live? How do you intend to make money? Questions like these are going to be thrown at you by relatives, friends, and acquaintances the second you graduate, so you might as well be prepared. But just because people are asking these questions doesnt mean you have to have an answer immediately.
I dont know is a wonderful answer, and one that you shouldnt be embarassed to give. After all, you just graduated! There is absolutely, positively nothing wrong with not having the rest of your life planned down to the second. Remember, this is a transitional period–everything is changing! At the very least, you are most likely going to have to say goodbye to friends and roommates with whom you have shared the past several years of your life. So dont be ashamed to relax and take care of yourself a little bit. You have a lot of figuring out to do.
Now is the time to clear your mind so that, when youre ready, you will be able to make the right decisions. In the end, you truly do have the rest of your life to figure it all out, so dont try and do it all in one graduation week.
